Wesley Davis, DNP

Dr. Wesley Davis, Assistant Professor and Emergency Nurse Practitioner specialty coordinator at the University of South Alabama College of Nursing, is triple Board-certified as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner, a Family Nurse Practitioner, and an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. In addition to directing the emergency nurse practitioner program, he teaches the residency courses for candidates working toward the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.

Dr. Davis completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2014 at the University of South Alabama. His doctoral project focused on improving emergency department design and procedures to improve patient experience, flow, and metrics.

Dr. Davis began his career in emergency nursing in 2002 in a rural emergency department, and beginning in 2004, he worked various assignments as a travel nurse for the next decade, ultimately serving in more than 20 emergency departments across seven states. In 2014, Dr. Davis began his new role as a nurse practitioner in a level II trauma center here in Wyoming. Dr. Davis now serves our local community through the emergency department and adult inpatient services.

Dr. Davis is a member of numerous organizations that are influential to nursing, including Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, the Wyoming Council for Advanced Practice Nurses, and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Davis currently serves as the Wyoming state representative for the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners and as a founding board member for the University of South Alabama’s College of Nursing Alumni Society.
