CCMSD is proud to celebrate Dr. Heith Waddell, our EMS Medical Director, on being named Physician of the Year by the Wyoming Department of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services.
The award was presented at the Wyoming Trauma and Emergency Medical Services Conference and recognizes Dr. Waddell’s leadership, mentorship, and dedication to strengthening emergency care across Crook County.
Dr. Waddell takes a hands-on approach to his role, working closely with EMS crews, emergency department staff, and hospital leadership to support quality patient care, clinical education, and continuous improvement. He also provides mentorship to EMTs, paramedics, and medical students while helping prepare our community for emergency and disaster situations.
Just as importantly, Dr. Waddell makes provider well-being a priority, offering support and follow-up after challenging calls and events.
While this recognition celebrates Dr. Waddell’s individual leadership, he is quick to credit the entire CCMSD team and the medical, EMS, and emergency care professionals who work alongside him every day.
Congratulations, Dr. Waddell, on this well-deserved honor! We are grateful for your commitment to our patients, our providers, and our community.
