Meet Lauren Lacey: The Friendly Face Supporting Crook County’s Mission
We’re excited to spotlight Lauren Lacey, who brings a positive spirit and a versatile skill set to our team at Crook County Medical Services! Lauren has been with us for just over a year as our Accounts Payable and Administrative Assistant, and her impact is already felt throughout the organization.
A Close-Knit Work Family
When asked what she loves most about her job, Lauren’s immediate response was the people. Since moving into the business office, she’s built strong friendships that feel like family. “The people here are inviting and supportive. It’s a place where you can count on others—not just for work but for life advice too.”
Lauren appreciates working in a small organization where she knows everyone by name. Although her role is behind the scenes, she knows her contributions are vital, ensuring smooth operations and supporting the organization’s mission.
Small-Town Life and a Sense of Belonging
Having grown up in a nearby Wyoming town, Lauren understands the value of a close-knit community. Though she once thought she’d prefer a larger city, she’s come to love the Sundance community. Living on a ranch gives her a unique work-life balance, offering a peaceful escape and connection to nature.
Life Outside the Office
When she’s not at work, you’ll find Lauren outside as much as possible. In the summer, she loves spending weekends at the lake boating, fishing, and camping. A big Yankees fan, she also follows baseball closely and enjoyed watching them go all the way to the World Series. Her move to a ranch has given her a new appreciation for country life, where she’s learning the ropes of ranching alongside her boyfriend, who is also a local wrestling coach.
Driven by Growth and Creativity
Lauren’s recent graduation with an MBA has fueled her passion for learning and creativity. She enjoys finding ways to make a difference beyond her role, such as creating the monthly staff newsletter and contributing to the Employee Relations Committee. Recently, she helped transform the training room into a wellness space where employees can take a break and recharge—a change that’s been warmly received.
She’s also involved in a leadership academy where team members learn from The 21 Laws of Leadership. “It’s great to see the organization taking proactive steps for positive change,” Lauren shares.

For Lauren, working at Crook County Medical Services goes beyond day-to-day tasks—it’s about being part of something bigger. “If you’re looking for a place where you can make a difference while gaining valuable experience, this is it,” she shares. Even though she’s not in a clinical role, Lauren sees the bigger picture: how every part of the organization, from admin to healthcare providers, plays a role in enhancing the well-being of the community.

Working here means joining a team dedicated to serving neighbors, friends, and families and making a tangible difference in the lives of the community. It’s a job, but it’s also a calling—one that Lauren is proud to support every day.
